Okuno & Partners (O&P) has received information that the emails falsely using the name of the firm have been sent to an unspecified number of persons. Such fraudulent emails typically:
– misstate that O&P has become aware of unauthorized use of its client’s copyrighted content on the website or platform of the recipient of the scam email;
– request the email recipient to immediately remove the content within 48 hours; and
– urge the recipient to contact O&P within 24 hours to request additional investigation, and to submit the recipient’s company name, contact information, detailed information of the alleged infringing content, and documentation verifying that you own the copyright of the content or are authorized to post it.
We have not sent any such email and we have not been involved in any of the instances.
Please be advised that such email is considered to be so-called fraudulent e-mail. Please refrain from following the contents of such email and ignore or delete it.
